Gynecologist, Obstetrics

Dr. Rinku Sen Gupta Dhar  is one of the best Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in South Delhi with extensive experience in gynecological and endoscopic surgery, natural birthing and vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC).

Dr. Rinku’s skills in various gynecological surgeries for fibroids, polyps, abnormal uterine bleeding and ovarian cysts etc are known far and wide. Despite her knowledge and expertise, she has always maintained transparency with patients and their families and does not recommend surgery unless it is absolutely necessary.

Through her 25+ year long practice, she has headed various maternity initiatives and actively reduced not just her own cesarean rates but even those of the hospital where she worked. She played a key role in bringing down the cesarean section rate in the private sector for low-risk, first-birth mothers. She achieved success by establishing workshops and training colleagues and nurses in antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care.

She has always led by example, be it in the labour room, where she held the hands of mothers as they endured labour or in the board room, where she advocated the rights of women to have a safe and positive delivery experience.

She continues to prepare mothers antenatally in group workshops by addressing their fear of normal delivery and instilling in them the confidence for a normal birth.

She is a keen researcher with more than 25 publications to her credit.  She has been a co-investigator in various ICMR projects in maternity care.
